What park fees are added on top of the boat?
These are set by the Komodo National Park authorities, paid per person in cash (IDR only — no cards), and revised without notice. According to SeekSophie’s January 2026 update, foreign visitors and KITAS holders pay IDR 250,000 per person for a one-day trip and IDR 650,000 per person for a 3D2N trip; Indonesian nationals pay IDR 150,000 and IDR 350,000 respectively. Fees vary by island and activity — diving costs more — and weekends cost more than weekdays.
Operators itemize these differently. Green Rinjani, for example, excludes a Komodo National Park entrance fee of IDR 650,000 per person plus a tentative Kalong Island sunset fee of IDR 250,000 per person on its 3D2N; Viator’s day trip excludes a park entrance fee of IDR 500,000 per person and Padar/Komodo ranger fees of IDR 360,000 per booking. The takeaway is consistent: park-related charges are never inside the boat price, so bring enough cash in rupiah.
When should you go?
High season runs May to September — sunny, warm, calm seas, and the clearest water for snorkeling Manta Point and Pink Beach. It is also peak crowds and peak prices, which makes an early tailor-made start more valuable. Low season, October to April, brings more rain and rougher water but lower prices and far fewer people.
